Yokohama Robbery-Murder: I Had Tens of Thousands of Yen in Unpaid Taxes

0

In the robbery-murder case in Yokohama’s Aoba Ward, it was revealed that the arrested suspect mentioned having unpaid taxes amounting to hundreds of thousands of yen.

Tatsuki Takarada, a 22-year-old from Inzai City, Chiba Prefecture, is suspected of breaking into the home of 75-year-old Kanji Goto around October 15 with two accomplices, killing him, and stealing cash and other valuables.

During police questioning, Takarada explained that he joined the criminal group because he had accumulated unpaid taxes and was seeking quick ways to earn money. He came across an advertisement for what he thought was a legitimate “white-collar” job and eventually connected with those directing the crime.

The police are now investigating the involvement of other perpetrators and the possible connection to a series of similar robbery incidents in the metropolitan area.
