Eight individuals, including 27-year-old Nakamura Kazuki, who is homeless and unemployed, and 27-year-old Sakai Ryota, a company employee from Tokushima City, have been arrested on suspicion of deceiving a man and extorting approximately 4.2 million yen in cash. They are accused of using the tactics of a so-called “beautiful person scheme,” wherein they allegedly made a man believe they had given a woman he met at a bar sleeping pills, took her to a hotel, and later demanded a settlement.

In December of last year, Nakamura and others are suspected of convincing a man in his twenties that he had taken a woman he met at a bar to a hotel after giving her sleeping pills. They are believed to have fraudulently obtained approximately 4.2 million yen in cash and a car worth 3 million yen.

The man, who had entered the hotel with the woman he met at the bar, later discovered that the woman was not feeling well the next morning. Subsequent medical tests detected sleeping pills in her system.

Following this, Nakamura, who claimed to be the president of the woman’s company, allegedly said to the man, “What are you going to do? You’re a rapist. What are you going to do about this?” and demanded a settlement.

Nakamura and the others have also been arrested and prosecuted for allegedly deceiving a man they met through a dating app into an investment scheme, fraudulently obtaining 17.9 million yen in cash. The total amount of the damages exceeds 40 million yen, and the police are investigating additional crimes.
