A former baton twirling coach was arrested by Kyoto police for indecent behavior towards a male teenager.
The suspect, Keima Kojo, 40, a former coach of a baton twirling team, no fixed address and unemployed, was arrested on suspicion of indecent assault.
On the morning of February 26 last year, Kojo is suspected of suddenly holding a 19-year-old male athlete down and committing an indecent act on him in an apartment in Kyoto, where the suspect was living at the time.
The male was in his third year of high school at the time, and had been coached by the suspect for several years.
The incident came to light last September when the male athlete and others consulted the police. The suspect has admitted the charges to police investigations.
Kojo left Japan around July last year and was arrested on the afternoon of April 29 when he was returning to Japan at Kansai Airport.
