Hyogo Prefectural Police Fukiai Station arrested a 22-year-old Chinese university student living in Kobe City, on suspicion of property damage after he allegedly smashed a police box window with a model gun on the 17th. At the time, a 68-year-old male officer was inside the police box, but he was not injured.
The arrest charges state that just before 2 P.M. on the same day, at the Ninomiya Police Box in Kobe City, the suspect struck and damaged a windowpane using a model gun. During questioning, the suspect admitted to the charges.
According to the police, the man visited the police box carrying a model gun resembling a machine gun. When the advisor saw this, he fled to the back room and called 110. Officers arrived to find one windowpane broken, and security camera footage revealed the man’s involvement.
The suspect reportedly stated, “Someone claiming to be with the Shanghai police told me, ‘Evidence of criminals is stored on the police box computer. Hand it over to us, or you and your family will be arrested.’”
