Two Nepalese Nationals, Suman Kumar Niule (26) and Padma Nas Sharma (44), a father and son duo, were arrested for deceiving an 80-year-old woman out of 1 million yen in cash.
According to the authorities, the two Nepalis sent messages via LINE, pretending to be MLB star Shohei Ohtani, and asking the victim to pay his insurance fees. Posing as Ohtani’s agent, went to collect the money and deposited it into the father’s bank account.
