Osaka City self-employed individuals, Suspect Kazuki Sato (age 36), and Suspect Mao Akita (age 34), are suspected of cultivating around 20 marijuana plants for profit in a roughly 3,000 square meter field in Maniwa City, Okayama Prefecture.
Last month, approximately 300 grams of marijuana was found inside their car, leading to their arrest on the spot. The police subsequently seized approximately 460 plants resembling marijuana from relevant sources and conducted further investigations.
Both individuals have stated during questioning that their actions were not for profit purposes.
