A man claiming to be of Guatemalan nationality, identified as Ezekiel Mogojon Lopez Benjhamin, has been arrested for breaking into a residence in Kokubunji, Tokyo, and stealing cash, rings, and other items.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, Ezekiel Mogojon Lopez Benjhamin, who claims to be from Guatemala, is suspected of breaking into a residence in Kokubunji last month and stealing approximately ¥400,000 in cash, as well as rings and other items totaling around ¥1.9 million.

It is believed that the suspect, Mogojon, attempted to avoid arrest by changing his appearance, such as wearing different hats before and after the incident.

While Mogojon denies the allegations during questioning, similar incidents with the same modus operandi have been reported in Tokyo since last month, totaling 11 additional cases. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police are investigating any potential connections between these incidents.
