Three Chinese nationals were arrested for using the logo of a game without permission on a website selling in-game items. It is believed that they were profiting from selling items illegally purchased with other people’s credit cards.

According to the police, the three suspects, including Li Xiaoyoun and Son Xiaowei, are suspected of using the logo of the online game Lineage M and other items without permission on RMT Dream, their website for selling game items and other items between 2021 and last year.

The three are believed to have sold items at a discount by illegally purchasing with other peoples’ credit cards, and to have sold approximately 600 million yen over a period of 18 months from 2021.

The police have also arrested suspects Kenji Osaki and Kazuaki Maeda, who operate another website, on similar charges and are investigating the flow of money in detail.
