The first trial of Koichiro Ito (52) was held at Wakayama District Court on May 16. He was accused of violating the Child Prostitution and Child Pornography Law and non-consensual sex for giving cash to a then 15-year-old girl and performing sexual acts on her. The defendant was involved as a producer in the production of the film “Your Name.”
According to the indictment, in September 2021, a girl from Nagano, then aged 15, whom he met on social media made her to send naked photos via smartphone.
Ito accepted the indictment, but his defense lawyer took the stance that the production of child pornography was disputed, saying that it wasn’t true.
In the opening statement, the prosecution pointed out that, fore more than 10 years, he had repeatedly given money and performed sexual acts with more than 100 people, including those under 18.
