According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the suspect, Dang Thi Phuong Anh, a 31-year-old Vietnamese national, is a member of a group referred to as the “Shoplifting Trading Company,” which smuggles shoplifted cosmetics from Japan to Vietnam. She was responsible for communicating Vietnamese shipping addresses to hideouts within Japan.
Dang denies the charges against her.
