Vietnamese National Arrested for Fraudulently Obtaining In-Game Currency

A Vietnamese vocational student was re-arrested for fraudulently obtaining 76,800 yen worth of in-game currency. The suspect is Nguyen Zai Thi, a 20-year-old Vietnamese National living in Arakawa Ward, Tokyo.

The suspect would use SIM cards containing other people’s subscriber information to log into game accounts while pretending to be the users, then made illegal in-game purchases using stolen credit card details and received payment from the customers.

During investigations, the Viet stated, “I was making 2 to 3 million yen per month,” while being part of a larger scam ring.
