Nguyen Cong An, a 42-year-old Vietnamese national living in Oizumi Town, Gunma Prefecture, is suspected of forging over 50 My Number and residence cards at his home in November.
According to police, Nguyen received instructions through social media to create the counterfeit cards, which he then mailed to his handler in exchange for payment.
More than 200 items, including laminated film bearing the Ministry of Justice watermark, were seized from Nguyen’s residence.
