The first trial of Brennon Washington, a US Air Force soldier in Okinawa, who is charged with kidnapping and non-consensual sexual intercourse for abducting a girl under 16 and sexually assaulting her at his home on the main island of Okinawa last December, began at 1:30 pm on July 12 at the Naha District Court.
At the beginning of the trial, he said, “I’m innocent. I didn’t kidnap her, I didn’t rape her” and pleaded not guilty of the charges against him for allegedly taking a girl under the age of 16 in his car, taking her to his home and sexually assaulting her.
The defendant’s lawyer also stated that he is not guilty, saying he didn’t rape and kidnap anyone.
