Two Vietnamese Nationals were arrested on suspicion of violating immigration. They are a 24-year-old construction worker living in Kumamoto Prefecture, and a 33-year-old man who claims to be a construction worker.
They are suspected of having remained in Japan illegally for about six months after their residency period had expired.
During police questioning, both admitted to the charges, stating, “We were aware that our residency status had expired.”
The police plan to further investigate the registered owner of the residence where the two were living and the business where they were allegedly employed.
