A Thai woman has been arrested for smuggling methamphetamine and cocaine via airplane.
On November 9, Man Yun Pimchananok (23), a Thai national, was arrested on suspicion of violating the Stimulants Control Act and other charges.
Man Yun is suspected of smuggling approximately 194 grams of methamphetamine (estimated street value of about 12.86 million yen) and 567 grams of cocaine (estimated street value of about 14.18 million yen) into Kansai Airport on November 9.
According to the police, the backpack Man Yun was carrying had stitching along the back panel, concealing methamphetamine and cocaine wrapped in aluminum foil inside.
Man Yun has since been indicted, and the police continue to investigate, suspecting it to be an organized crime.
