The Sakura Police Station arrested a 47-year-old man of Sri Lankan Nationality, who claims to live in Matsuyama City, on suspicion of drunk driving.
The suspect is accused of driving a light passenger car under the influence of alcohol around 4:40 a.m. on the 6th, on National Route 296 in Shisui Town, Shisui.
According to the police, he stated, “There’s no doubt I drove the car while I had alcohol in my system, but I thought I was drinking lemon juice.” The incident came to light after he was involved in a property damage accident where he crashed into a streetlight and underwent a breathalyzer test.
