A man was beaten to death on January the 24th in Kobe City. The Hyogo Prefectural Police announced the arrest of Go Yeongcheol (54), an unemployed South Korean National living in Nagata Ward, on suspicion of murder.
Three other people, including a 54-year-old yakuza member, were arrested on suspicion of abandonment of a severely injured victim. A 53-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of harboring a fugitive for assisting Go in his escape.
According to the police report, on the early morning of January 12th, Go allegedly punched the victim, Shinichi Nakaya (59), a security guard, at Nakaya’s residence in Kobe City, causing his death later that day.
The yakuza member and the other two men reportedly transported Nakaya to Go’s residence and left him there. The woman is suspected of helping Go flee to Kitakyushu after the incident.
All five suspects were acquaintances, but the police have not disclosed whether they have admitted to the charges.
