A South Korean National and president of a pachinko parlor was arrested on suspicion of soliciting employees to vote for a specific candidate in the House of Councilors election in exchange for money.
The report cites that the executives of the pachinko parlor, “Delpara” conspired with store managers and approached 60 or so employees, saying things like, “if you vote for LDP candidate Yasuhisa Abe, you will be paid 3,000 to 4,000 yen.”
According to police, 250 employees participated in the voting, but no employees as of now have been confirmed of receiving money.
The candidate they supported was Abe, a chairman of the “All Japan Amusement Business Cooperative Federation,” a group that supports the pachinko sector.
