Masataka Otsubo, 46, a Self-Defense Force member was arrested for assaulting a 36-year-old woman and a 17-year-old high school girl in the face at Nishitetsu Kurume Station.
Otsubo is suspected of screaming “Move, you’re in the way” and striking the face of the 36-year-old woman who was simply waiting for the train. Allegedly, he also randomly punched a 17-year-old in the face in the process.
According to the police, Otsubo was heavily intoxicated at the time, and a male acquaintance of the woman restrained him by holding him down. During questioning, he is quoted as saying, “to be honest, I was really drunk and don’t remember,” denying the charges.
