Neomi, which operates the sexual consent service Kiroku, announced the launch of its YouTube channel. It also announced that the service has over 9,000 registered users.
The channel is called Everyday Kiroku channel. It will send out a video once a month with advice on how to use the service, and advice for couples who are struggling with the timing of use. Note that no videos have been posted yet as of July 23.
Kiroku is a web service that aims to replace the sexual consent form, following the establishment of a new offense of non-consensual sexual intercourse in the revised Criminal Code in July 2023. The user checks the confirmation items and has the QR code read by the partner with her/his smartphone, and a record is kept.
It was initially announced as a smartphone app, but the launch was postponed due to a series of concerns, including the possibility of forcing users to press the consent button. Functions were added and the service was started as a web service in December last year.
