Real Estate Agent Arrested for Leasing Apartment for Drug Trafficking

Hayato Sekioka (33), a real estate agent in Fukuoka City was arrested for conspiring with a criminal organization and applying for a rental contract using forged documents.

Sekioka is believed to have conspired with the criminals to forge documents and apply for a rental contract for an apartment in Fukuoka. Inside the apartment among other locations, marijuana, stimulants and other drugs worth at last 46.7million yen were seized, and seven men and women were arrested.

Even though the tenant of the apartment was unemployed, Sekioka allegedly created a fake job offer notification and submitted it to the property management company to secure the lease.

The police believe the apartment was used as a drug trafficking base.
