On July 23, Kanagawa Prefectural Police arrested Tomoyasu Sugiyama, 31, a professional golfer from Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa, on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse for sexually assaulting a female acquaintance. According to the police, he admitted to the charges.
He is suspected of assaulting a woman in her 20’s at a hotel in Chigasaki, Kanagawa, between 4:25 am and 7:30 am on May 7. The police is investigating the detailed circumstances.
