A 21-year-old man was arrested for defrauding a 60-year-old woman in Saga out of 500 million yen.
The man is believed to be from Yokohama and conspired with unidentified individuals and made phone calls to the woman pretending to be police offers. On March 22, the scammers received 141 million yen in cash from the woman at her home, with the suspect admitting to the charges.
