Rossi Cruz John Elias, a 34-year-old Pervuian National was arrested for driving in the wrong direction on an expressway in Kameyama City. He allegedly collided with two cars and fled the scene.
A dashcam captured the blue car speeding in the wrong direction. Cars that noticed the vehicle going the wrong way made sudden lane changes, complicating the situation. Despite there being no rain, the vehicle’s windshield wipers were moving violently.
In addition to the two car crashes, four more vehicles trying to avoid the situation resulted in injuries to four women. According to investigators, Rossi, who fled the scene, turned himself in at Nagahama Police Station.
Further investigations revealed that Rossi is believed to have made a U-turn directly on the expressway and began driving in the wrong direction.
During questioning, Rossi stated, “I didn’t hit two cars – only one.”
It is believed that Rossi drove the wrong way for at least 10 kilometers and that there may have been a passenger in the vehicle.
