A 62-year-old man of Pakistani nationality was arrested in Sapporo, Hokkaido on suspicion of committing indecent acts on a woman without her consent.
On the night of November 17, at a building in Sapporo, the Paki, a company executive, allegedly hugged and kissed a woman in her 20’s without her consent.
According to police, the man approached the woman at a convenience store, asking, “Would you like to go to a nearby building with me?” Believing she did not explicitly refuse, he reportedly led her to a nearby building, where he hugged and kissed her.
The woman, who stated she did not consent to being hugged or kissed, consulted with an acquaintance after the incident. This acquaintance subsequently called the police, reporting that “a Pakistani man sexually harassed a woman in her 20’s.”
After interviewing the victim and reviewing security camera footage, police identified the man as the suspect. On December 3, about two weeks after the incident, police arrested him.
During questioning, the 62-year-old company executive denied the allegations, stating, “I don’t remember anything.”
