The first trial of an unemployed man, Ren Tokuda, 25, who was charged with destruction of property and trespassing for mixing semen into the honey of a female colleague, was held at the Okayama District Court on July 22. The judge handed down a sentence of one year and six months imprisonment and a suspended sentence of three years.

According to the court’s decision, between August 30 last year and January 17 this year, the man broke into the women’s toilet at the Okayama sales office of a housing manufacturer where he worked, and also put his semen into mugs and honey containers that his female colleagues had left on their desks, causing them to become dirty.

According to the prosecutor’s opening statement, the man posted photos of the honey and mugs on X. Since February this year, people who saw the photos reported the incident to the police and other authorities. The women were unaware of the damage until the incident was discovered.

During questioning, the man explained why he made them widely available, saying, after receiving a number of “likes” for images he posted on his X account, he thought it would go viral.

The female colleagues refused to accept a settlement from the defendant and demanded severe punishment.
