A 26-year-old man, Kouta Hosomi (26), was arrested for breaking into a warehouse in Fukuchiyama City and stealing a small agricultural tractor worth approximately 300,000 yen. The man admitted to the charges, stating, “I planned to sell it for money.” Earlier this month, agricultural equipment had also been stolen from the same warehouse, and the police are investigating a possible connection.
A man in charge of managing the warehouse had consulted with nearby secondhand dealers, warning them that stolen farming equipment might be brought in. On the afternoon of the 18th, a secondhand dealer contacted the warehouse manager, reporting that a small agricultural tractor had been brought in. The manager then notified the police.
When officers arrived at the secondhand shop and questioned Hosomi, who was inside the store, he admitted to stealing the tractor, leading to his immediate arrest.
The police are also investigating whether he was involved in the earlier theft of agricultural equipment from the same warehouse.
