Daisuke Kumagai (42), was arrested for stealing a taxon on a street in Nagoya City, injuring the driver in the process.
According to the report, Kumagai stole a parked taxi and stole approximately 27,000 yen in cash. He then drove off with the taxi, dragging the driver who had chased after the vehicle, causing the man to fall.
The incident occurred while the driver had briefly stepped away to use a restroom in a nearby park, leaving the engine running.
