A 51-year-old man was arrested in Hamamatsu City for obstructing police duties by falsely reporting that he was the victim of a robbery.
The man is a taxi driver and made a false emergency call claiming he had been assaulted and robbed on a street in Hamamatsu City, which police swiftly responded to.
According to reports, he stated that he had been kicked in the leg by men on a scooter and had his wallet stolen. However, after police conducted interviews and viewed surveillance footage, along with inconsistencies in his story, the police confronted him.
