A 27-year-old man was arrested in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho district for allegedly coercing a 28-year-old woman into engaging in prostitution, commonly known as “tachinbo,” and taking 15 million yen in earnings.
The unemployed suspect, Tetsu Nemoto (27), is accused of forcing the woman into soliciting customers for prostitution around the Okubo Park area in Kabukicho on October 16th.
Nemoto is said to have met the woman for the purpose of “sugar dating” and suggested that she could earn more money as a “standing prostitute” in Okubo Park.
The suspect reportedly subjected the woman to physical violence and forcibly made her engage in “tachinbo.” Since September 2022, he had received 15 million yen from her earnings.
