On May 1st that the Tokyo Metropolitan Police had arrested two new suspects, former actor Kirato Wakayama (20) and South Korean national Kang Mitsunori (20) on suspicion of damaging the bodies of restaurant owner Ryutaro Takarajima, (55) and his wife Sachiko (56) who were found burnt to death in the town of Nasu in Tochigi Prefecture. Kang is an acquaintance of the suspect Ryoken Hirayama, 25, who has already been arrested, and is suspected of setting fire and damaging the couple with the suspect Wakayama.
Wakayama is a former well-known child actor and appeared in a lot of popular TV dramas and movies. However, he disappeared from the limelight when he took part in the promotion of a film released in 2018.
In the case of Mr. and Mrs. Takarajima, bouth were found burnt to death, several people were found to have been involved, including those who gave instructions and those who disposed of the bodies, and were paid in excess of 10 million JPY.
There have been cases in the past where former child actors lacking social common sense who grew up in the entertainment industry were subsequently arrested for drug offenses or drunk-driving. However, it’s almost unheard of for them to have been involved in such heinous cases.
