An idol producer, was arrested for indecently assaulting a 17-year-old idol.
According to investigators, idol producer Takumi Sanada, 40, is suspected of violating the Child Welfare Law by performing indecent acts on a 17-year-old idol girl at a hotel in Tokyo on multiple occasions between February and March of this year, knowing she was under 18.
The suspect, Sanada, is believed to have taken advantage of his position as a producer and, although married, to have made false marriage proposals to the girl, such as “Let’s get married after you retire from being an idol”, in order to make her feel romantic feelings for him.
In response to an investigation, Sanada admitted to committing indecent acts, but denied some of the charges, saying that he didn’t use his producer’s position.
