CEO Kazuaki Tsutsumi of “ARCANA” host club in Kabukicho, Shinjuku has been arrested on suspicion of knowingly allowing a minor to be served as a customer at the establishment. The victim was 17 at the time.
The high school girl was lured to the club online through a voice streaming host on Twitter who worked at Tsutsumi’s store. She was invited to the store every day by the perpetrator who fictionalized a romantic relationship with the victim.
The underage victim was coerced into prostitution by the perpetrator and spent over 173,8700YEN ($11,597USD as of 11/20/2023) at the establishment.
“I had sex with over 50 people and earned 2 million yen in 2 months ($13,340 as of 11/20/2023). I gave my body to dirty strangers.”
The underage high school student was hospitalized after the incident and is currently undergoing physical and mental rehabilitation.
The voice streamer from X (formerly known as Twitter) who lured the victim to the store with the CEO has been arrested though Tsutsumi denies the charges against him saying that he didn’t know that she was 17 at the time.
One of the major reasons why customers are unable to leave the grasp of host clubs are due to pay-later schemes available for female patrons who rack up exorbitant bills resulting in them working in the sex industry to pay these debts off. The mayor of Shinjuku held an emergency press conference in response to the recent incident and requested host clubs to regulate these systems.
