A former employee of a Toyota Motor Corporation-affiliated dealership was arrested for offering a false deal to a car sales company and swindling it out of approximately 100 million JPY.
According to police, 47-year-old Masahiko Watanabe is suspected of having defrauded a company in Nagoya of approximately 100 million yen last November by asking the company to act as an intermediary in a fictitious car sales transaction.
He has admitted to the investigation that he did it, although he isn’t sure of the amount and date.
The suspect, Watanabe, is believed to have repeatedly made fictitious transactions with several companies in the same manner over the past three years, with a total of 1.45 billion yen, which the police are investigating in detail.
