Filipino National Attempts to Steal Copper Cables

0

In September, a failed copper cable theft incident in Tama City, Tokyo, led to the arrest of two men, including a Filipino national believed to be the ringleader, by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.

According to investigators, the suspects, including 23-year-old Filipino national Daichi Hoibia Inoue, were arrested on suspicion of attempted theft.

In September, the suspects allegedly broke into a construction site for new public housing in Tama City and attempted to steal 40 bundles of copper cable, worth approximately 600,000 yen.

While trying to carry the cables away, a motion sensor was triggered, prompting the suspects to abandon the cables and flee the scene.

Three other men in their 20’s have already been indicted in connection with this case, and Inoue is believed to be the group’s ringleader. Inoue has reportedly admitted to the allegations during questioning.
