A Chinese man and woman, Wang Yuanyuan (37) and Weng Bo (28), who run and work at a beauty clinic were arrested for robbery.
In March, they allegedly made a video call to another man, threatening him and saying things like, “If you don’t pay, we’ll kill your friend. We’ll chop off his hand,” ultimately forcing him to transfer 1.8 million yen.
Wang is said to have confined and assaulted the man she had a dispute with over the clinic’s start up funds.
Both suspects deny the charges.
