Chinese Nationals were arrested in Tokyo, including eight men and women, and the manager of a private massage parlor, Toyo Taniguchi (54), for acting as street solicitors, and violating the Anti-Prostitution Act. Taniguchi and six others admitted to the charges while three denied them.

According to investigations, Taniguchi and the others operated two shops and attracted customers solely through street solicitation – no websites or signs, attracting 30-50 customers per day. Most of the employees were Chinese Nationals, and earned an estimated 350 million yen in sales since 2023.

The suspects are accused of standing on the streets, saying things like “you can go all the way,” in order to solicit prostitution.
