On October 10, a man was killed in a brawl between Thai nationals at a restaurant in Asahi City, Chiba Prefecture. Police arrested a Thai national for injuring another man and are asking for further details.
Shortly afte 12:30 am on October 10, a customer called police at a restaurant in Chiba Prefecture, to report that there was trouble at the restaurant.
When police arrived, they found Jantabut Kissana, 32, a Thai national and resident of Japan, lying outside the restaurant and was taken to a hospital, where he was later confirmed dead. According to the police, Jantabut had a knife cut on his face.
At the time of the incident, groups of Thai people were drinking alcohol in the shop, when the group fought with each other, leading to a brawl.
Police have arrested a Thai national, in his 30’s, for injuring another man with a knife in the brawl, and believe he knows some circumstances of Jantabut’s death.
The police have set up a 70-people special investigation unit to look into the details of the incident.
