A 19-year-old American man who had gone missing during a direct climb to Mount Fuji’s peak was safely rescued on the morning of the 5th.

Two foreign tourists had gone missing on the morning of the 4th, just after 4:30 AM.

At the 5th station of Mount Fuji, the comprehensive management center received a rescue request from a Mexican male university student who had been climbing with the American teen. He stated, “I’m not injured, but I’ve lost my way.”

Subsequently, the Mexican student managed to descend on his own, but the friend remained unaccounted for.
Then, approximately 29 hours after the rescue request, on the morning of the 5th, before 10 AM, the Yamanashi Prefecture Police Alpine Rescue Team discovered and rescued the missing person.

According to the police, the American teen had deviated from the climbing route and had lost his way in thick fog. Fortunately, his injuries were minor, consisting of only scrapes on his knees and elbows.

Bullet climbs by foreign tourists with inadequate clothing or gear have posed a significant issue in the past decade.

The rescued American man in this case was also dressed in just a plain T-shirt and regular pants.
