A 23-year-old man from Sapporo City was arrested for headbutting a police officer.
According to reports, the suspect is cited as stating, “I thought it was a senior of mine, but it turned out to be a police officer.” The incident had occurred at the “Otaru Ushio Festival” where the crime had unraveled. Inside the festival, there was a dispute involving several people. When two police officers responded to the situation, the man headbutted one of them.
The man had been drinking, and during questioning, denied the charges saying, “I didn’t do it on purpose.”
