A 42-year-old man has been arrested for cultivating approximately 130 cannabis plants at his home in Adachi Ward, Tokyo, for the purpose of sale.
Toshiaki Watanabe, a 42-year-old truck driver, is suspected of growing around 130 cannabis plants at his home in November 2024. The plants had an estimated street value of over 16 million yen.
According to the police, the second-floor room contained LED lights and an air circulation system, creating a temperature-controlled environment for cannabis cultivation. While Watanabe has partially denied the allegations, he reportedly claimed that the plants were for his own use.
