A man from Hyogo Prefecture was arrested on the 2nd by the Akashi Police Station on suspicion of indecent assault one a female passenger. During questioning, he stated, “I was drunk and don’t remember.”
While aboard a limited express train running between Beppu and Higashi-Futami on the Sanyo Electric Railway, he touched the buttocks of a 25-year-old woman seated in a box seat. During questioning, he repeated, “I was drunk and don’t remember.”
According to the police station, the man was sitting behind the woman and is believed to have reached through the gap between the seats. The woman pressed the emergency button, led the man off the train at Higashi-Futami Station, and was handed over to Akashi police officers via the station staff.
