A 78-year-old woman, former top star of the Takarazuka Revue, a Japanese all-female musical theater group, was arrested for defrauding a female fan out of 10 million yen in cash by lying to her that she was short of money for a film production and asked for a loan.
According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, the suspect, Terumi Ogura, a company officer, is suspected of swindling a female fan of 10 million yen in cash in 2019 by lying to her, saying that she needed money because she was short of expenses for a film production and would sell her house in the exclusive residential area of Denenchofu, Tokyo to pay her back. The house had already been sold when she approached her.
Ogura, a former top star of the Takarazuka Revue, was then performing under the stage name Takiko Dai, and continues to perform under the name Emika Mitsuhara.
When questioned by police, Ogura denied the charges, saying she had intended to return the money.
