The Hyogo Prefectural Police Juvenile Division and Hyogo Police Station arrested three 15-year-old boys on suspicion of theft on the 17th. At the time of the incident, all three were third-year junior high school students living in Kobe City.
The boys are suspected of committing the near Higashiyama Shopping Street. They allegedly approached a 61-year-old male company employee from behind—some on bicycles and others on foot—and snatched his wallet from his pocket. The wallet contained approximately ¥24,000 in cash.
According to the police, security camera footage helped identify the three suspects. All three have admitted to the charges.
