Two Vietnamese men who had been arrested on suspicion of attempting to kill each other by striking each other’s heads with a hammer have been released without indictment by the Numazu branch of the Shizuoka District Public Prosecutors Office.
The two men, aged 28 and 30, both Vietnamese Nationals, had been arrested and sent to prosecutors for allegedly attempting to murder at a factory in Izunokuni City, Shizuoka Prefecture, where they both worked.
The Numazu branch of the Shizuoka District Prosecutors Office reclassified the case from attempted murder to assault during the investigation, but ultimately decided not to indict either man as of April 22. The prosecution has not disclosed the reason for the decision.
